Grocery List Clipboard DIY
6 01 2010Design*Sponge tweeted about this new post on their website & I am so in love with it!

First of all, I love grocery shopping. Second of all, I love lists. This is right up my alley! I can’t wait for Alex & me to have our own refrigerator to fill with fruits & veggies & all kinds of yumminess. And Cheez-Its, of course.

Post-holiday reorganization
4 01 2010Go back to San Diego & had to put all my Christmas stuff away! Ended up needing to do a major yarn storage overhaul.
My nightstand is now my yarn storage unit. I love this! It makes me so happy. Open storage is the best, because I can actually SEE my stuff, so I know what I have.
I also put up my window art thing from Kimberly. This guy at the farmers’ market in OB makes these out of REAL pressed flowers & leaves & old window frames! I definitely squealed when I opened this present.
And yes, I still have a pumpkin there too. What can I say? I love my gourds.
And I also put up my mom’s Wordle of 1 Corinthians. Love it!
Still need to change my calendar to January. Will do that next!
It feels good to be home.
One more week until classes start!

Happy New Year!
3 01 2010We had a wonderful holiday season. We spent the week of Christmas in San Diego & the week after in Temecula with family. Here’s a picture of us Christmas-light-looking down in San Diego:

We were blessed with lots of fun presents & full stockings. We even got passes to Disneyland, which we took advantage of yesterday. We are definitely looking forward to using those this year!
Other goals for this year:
–Wedding planning! The amount of time we’ve had has made us rather lackadaisical in planning, but we really need to get a move on if we don’t want to be stuck with tons to do at the end while we’re trying to finish school! So we have to do pretty much everything except booking the venue, which is already done. Exciting & overwhelming!
–Getting in shape for said wedding. These pictures are going to be around for a long time, you know!
–Get moving on my Etsy shop. I have lots of fun ideas for it that I want to start working on.
–Focus on school. I got a 4.0 this past semester & hope to do it again these last two semesters. I’m aiming to graduate Summa Cum Laude, and I know I can do it!
So those are just a couple goals for this year. I’m sure I’ll be posting about their progress.
I can’t believe this is my last year as an unmarried woman. So crazy!
Anyone else have goals for the new year?

my first sale!
11 12 2009I sold my first knitted bow headband!
And I have a check to prove it!

So last week I was perusing a local thriftsstore, wearing one of my knit bow headbands, as per usual, when the manager came up & said “That headband is so cute, did you make it?” I said yes, and she asked if I sold them.
“Um, I can,” I said, and proceeded to ask her what colors she wanted.
I made it, delivered it, and $10 later, I am in business.
She kept saying how I should try to get my stuff in some of the boutiques around San Diego, that they would totally sell them for me. It was very encouraging!
It made me want to put more effort into my Etsy shop, which has been on “Vacation Mode” for about two months now.
